Your Purpose in Life Isn't What You Think

The sub-title of The Passion Test is "The Effortless Path to Discovering Your Life Purpose." This is not just a nice sub-title.

The day will come when you will look back and say, "Aha, this was my purpose for being here." Just by consistently making decisions based on what really matters to you, day by day, you will discover your life purpose has arrived, without you havinng to make any great effort to discover it.

But there's an extra bonus gift waiting for you at the end of the path: When you arrive at that time when you simply CAN'T do anything you aren't passionate about, you simply aren't able to do something that you don't enjoy and care about, a new realization will dawn. Even though you may have spent many years in accomplishment and achievement, in being with and taking care of your family, of working on your health, or traveling to far reaches of the earth, these things will pale in comparison to this.

You will emerge into the awareness that the only thing that ever mattered was to be solidly established in the bliss, the joy, the fulfillment, which naturrally arises when you are deeply connected to your innermost nature.

That's all it's about. When Eckhart Tolle speaks of the power which exists in the present moment, that's what he's referring to. It is the remarkable delight that arises when you are fully aware and awake to your own soul. In that there is peace. In that there is fulfillment. In that there is complete contentment.

This is your birthright, and the place where your passions are leading you.

Today's Tip for Following Your Passions: When you notice that your mind is on other things than being fully present, stop and pay attention. Ask yourself, what can I do right now that will bring me closer to the things I love and care about most? Give yourself permission to take a break and do something for yourself or someone you love.

"The purpose of life is the expansion of happiness."  - His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi
