Ever done a jigsaw puzzle? When you mix up the pieces it can be hard as heck to see how they all fit together. But then with time and patience, they begin to match up. You get one section done, then another, then another.
At some point, it's as if the puzzle all comes together, almost on its own. Suddenly the pieces are falling into place one after the other.
Passion is like that. When you first take The Passion Test and begin getting clear about what matters to you. It may seem impossible to figure out how it all fits together. "How in the world am I going to create this in my life?"
That's why we emphasize that you're not responsible for the "how." Your job is to get clear on the "what." Once you've gone through The Passion Test many times within a month or two and you discover that your top five passions have not changed much, now you have a powerful decision making tool.
Following your passions, making decisions based on your passions, will begin to shift your experience of life. At first one section of your life will begin to come together, then another. Sometimes what you thought was the solution in one area, turns out to be leading you in a completely new direction.
The key is to "stay open." Be alert to what is appearing now. Let go of your own thoughts about "how" your visions and dreams will get fulfilled. Accept the gifts that are coming to you in this moment.
As you do this, you'll discover that the puzzle starts coming together. There will come a point when you simply can't do anything that you are not passionate about, or at least is clearly helping you live and follow your passions.
When this happens, you will realize that your passions are a perfect fit for you. You are doing what you love, with people you love, in places you love, and joy just seems to keep on growing.
Today's Tip for Following Your Passions: Pay attention to what is appearing in your life today. Consciously choose to stay open, even if what is showing up seems to be in direct conflict with what you think you want. Let go of your resistance. If you disagree with someone in your life, then, rather than defending your position, let them know you need a little time to consider what they've said. See what happens when you consciously step into the flow of life. |
