The entire Passion Test process is aimed at helping you gain clarity about the things that matter most to you in your life. Then by choosing in favor of those things as you have to make decisions, you will find your purpose in life naturally unfolds.
As you consistently choose to do things that connect you to your passions, you will discover your life feels more and more purposeful and on-track. That's why the sub-title of our book is "The Effortless Path to Discovering Your Life Purpose".
But clarity requires making choices. Among all the things you like, what do you really love? Among everything you love, what is it that means more than anything else? Answering these questions is what The Passion Test is all about.
As you go through The Passion Test process, remember that by the time you finish all of the exercises, everything will be included. As you make choices to determine your top five, it can sometimes feel like you're losing something. Remind yourself that's not the case. Choosing gives clarity, then completing the other exercises allows you to create a vision of your life in which it is all contained.
Today's Tip for Following Your Passions: Contraction (see "Nature's Guidance System" in Chapter 9 of The Passion Test) is always a signal that greater clarity is needed. There is some area of our life in which we need to dive deeper. However, the first step is to feel the feelings. Once you've allowed yourself to feel the feelings that are coming up, then is the time for reflection and investigation to gain the clarity that will allow you to make the next step of progress. |
