In Uncertain Times, Where Does Fulfillment Come From?
"If you are ready to enjoy the very best quality of life, in spite of all that is happening in the world, then I invite you to be one of 20 special people who join me to transform their lives this coming year."
Wednesday, 8:38 AM
From: Janet Attwood
In the early '70's, I went to Humboldt College in northern California to spend a month with one of the most amazing and remarkable people I have ever met. There were a couple thousand kids about my age, along with a sprinkling of older people who had the wisdom to be open to a little man who wore white robes and talked with a funny accent.
I sat spellbound for that month. Never before had I heard such wisdom, expressed in ways that even I could understand. Never before had I experienced such love, such understanding and the profound experiences that I discovered in this man's presence.
When the month was over and this little Indian man invited us to come to Mallorca, Spain to be trained as teachers of the Transcendental Meditation® technique, I decided immediately I would get there somehow.
I had no money, but I wasn't about to let that stop me. Between doing some temporary work, gifts and loans from friends, not long after I was once again sitting in the presence of His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.
Maharishi ignited in me a desire for truth that has never left me. After my teacher training course I was fortunate enough to get to go to La Antilla, Italy where another course was being held and worked on staff, managing the housing for 12 hotels filled with course participants. From there I was invited to travel to Lake Arrowhead with Maharishi and a group of staff where he wrote The Science of Being and Art of Living.
Now, more than thirty-five years later, I still am drenched in the power and magic of sitting with this enlightened Master. Maharishi was in a class by himself.
It was Maharishi who inspired me with what a great blessing it is to sit with a Master who has known the truth of life from his own direct experience. It was the experience of being with him which created the great passion I told about in The Passion Test to "spend time with the enlightened."
As you no doubt know, that passion led me on a pilgrimage to interview more than 60 Saints and sages in India and Nepal in the past few years. What is clear from spending time with all of them is that fulfillment arises from the inside out.
Yet it's one thing to say this. It's another thing to know it without a shadow of a doubt. And it is that knowing which leads to the experience of joy through all the many phases of life.
I believe the current upheaval in the world presents the perfect chance to investigate what is true and to awaken to the experience described by every spiritual tradition in the world, the experience that brings with it abiding peace and contentment.
This is a time when those of us who are no longer willing to live in the illusion of separation have the chance to come together and create a new experience of life—for ourselves, and for the entire world.
This is our time, yours and mine together . . .
This coming year my partner, Chris Attwood, and I are launching a program designed for those courageous souls who are ready to step out of the apparent whirlpool of catastrophic world events and onto the experience of life as whole, unified, and complete. The intent of this program is to support each participant in awakening to their own true nature. What does that mean on a practical level?
Happiness. Abundance. Compassion. Contentment. Inner Peace. Freedom from fear.
Spiritual awakening provides these experiences without dependence on any object of experience outside yourself. They do not depend on a romantic partner, having lots of money, living by the ocean or in the mountains, being healthy, doing things you love, or anything else.
You can have all those things and still be miserable. Why not have all of them AND live in fulfillment? This is what Maharishi used to call "living 200% of life."
Spiritual awakening means experiencing life as pure bliss, in an ocean of ever expanding joy.
The tools we'll use will include:
Dialogues with the Masters - You'll receive this 6 DVD, 9 CD package of interviews with many of the Masters I've interviewed over the past five years. You can read more about this below.
Monthly Interviews with the Masters - Every month you will listen in to a live interview with a Master, those of deepest wisdom from around the world. You'll have the chance to submit questions before each teleconference call and the calls will be recorded so you can listen to them later.
Monthly Dialogues with Chris Attwood - My business partner is brilliant. He has both a deep understanding and deep experience of the nature of life. Every month, starting in February, he will get on the phone with all of us to lead a discussion based on his blog, Pipelines to the Soul. These calls will focus on the practical implications of living in unity—of living in the experience that all life is intimately connected. As with the Masters calls, you'll have the chance to submit questions in advance and the calls will be recorded.
Pipelines to the Soul - This is Chris' blog examining the practical implications of living in unity. 2-3 times a week he'll provide his insights and thoughts. You'll have the chance to add your comments and your own insights.
Because this is such a seemingly precarious and important time, I am inviting 20 people to join me now, to come together twice a month during 2009. If you're one of those 20, we'll ask you to pay $497 to cover our costs (or you can pay $197 now and $50 per month for 12 months).
The next 20 will pay $997 and anyone who would like to join us after that will pay $1,497.
That means, when you enroll now, you will save at least $1,000.
Below is a fuller description of the Dialogues with the Masters package. If you would like to get a taste of Chris' writing in Pipelines to the Soul, click here. If you know that you want to be one of the 20, then here's your chance:
Spiritual Awakening - The Search for Freedom
The wisdom that arises with spiritual awakening could help you become wealthy beyond your wildest dreams, it could help you get that car you've always dreamed about, it could be the key to that soul connected relationship you have always wanted.
But when those things happen in your life, they won't be the path to your freedom, they will be the result of the freedom you have already achieved.
Making more money, getting a new car, falling in love, are all wonderful, but sooner or later, the money will be spent, the car will wear out, and the passion of new love will fade. What then?
We all know that there is a deeper reality. Intuitively we know that there is a place of inner peace and freedom which transcends the material world. But how do we find that place?
The ancient texts tells us that one of the most effective ways is to spend time with and ask questions of those who have already found it.
It's Never Been Possible Before
Like you, the search for freedom has been a major part of my life.
Perhaps, like me, you have had the chance to spend time with some of the enlightened, truly free souls who walk the Earth today. If so, you know what a remarkable experience it is.
With them it's possible to sit for hours without ever getting tired. Their mere presence is a source of joy. Their words bring solace, understanding and insight. Each sentence they utter seems to bring new revelations and a new way of looking at one's own life.
Although I'd had that experience in the past, perhaps like you, the hustle and bustle of daily life, of making money, of new relationships, of new worries and problems, had pushed this into the background of my life for quite a while.
Then I took The Passion Test once again in 2003, and asked myself, "If the world were my oyster, if there were no limits whatsoever, what would I do?"
This time, those memories of sitting with an enlightened Master flooded into my mind and the thought of "spending time with the enlightened" was like a burst of sunshine into my ordinary world.
I wrote this passion down, and if you've read The Passion Test, you know it led me on an unbelievable journey to my stepmother's deadbed and then to India and Nepal where I spent over two years meeting and interviewing more than 60 of the most revered Saints and sages of those ancient lands.
I brought back over 350 hours of videotated interviews and now, after two years of editing, some of the most fascinating and revealing portions of those interviews are now available to you in Dialogues with the Masters, Volume 1. These interviews include some with Masters you may have heard of, and they also include Masters that few people have ever had the chance to learn from.
Never before to my knowledge has there been an opportunity to sit at the feet of some of the sadhus and sages in this package who have spent their lives devoted to the direct experience of the divine.
These interviews are the starting place to discover real freedom in your life.
What is Real Freedom?
Whether it's money, relationships, peace of mind, comfort, contentment, excitement, purpose, power and influence, travel to exotic places or just a few moments of quiet to take it easy and catch our breath, the freedom to have or do these things conjures up a life of joy, fulfillment and ease. Fundamentally, spiritual awakening is about enjoying real freedom.
Among the Masters I interviewed, they experienced life in many different ways, yet all of them clearly were enjoying such a life.
Whether I was talking with Pujya Swamiji who is the spiritual inspiration for one of the largest and most beautiful ashrams in India, with millions of followers around the world; or Ramesh Balsekar, who has written almost a dozen books and is revered as one of the leading advaita masters in the world; or to Govind Ashram, a quiet sadhu, living in a small hut by the Ganges river, high in the Himalayas, they all emanated a deep peace.
Some of these Masters have a schedule and demands on their time as great as any leader in the Western world. Some of them have chosen to retire from the world and live a reclusive life.
There is no doubt in my mind that each of them enjoy a state of freedom the rest of the world only dreams about.
Their freedom comes with a deep trust in the perfection of life. It is a freedom characterized by profound peace. Theirs is a life of true comfort, materially if they have chosen that, but in all cases a comfort of mind that makes spending time with them pure joy.
"The fire of spiritual awareness burns to ashes even a great heap of karma;
thus true knowledge is the greatest purifier of the soul."
- Bhagavad Gita
To Hear Truth is a Wondrous Thing
As you'll discover when you watch the Dialogues DVDs, listen to the audio CDs, and then join me in our monthly interviews with Masters from around the world, it's a wondrous thing to sit with those who have seen truth so clearly. Here is a taste of what you'll hear:
"Always the greatest secret is to hang on to God with all your might and main. If you sit on one side of the seesaw you have to go up and down, up and down. If you catch hold of the center and sit there, you can watch others going up and down, but you are in that safe harbor,
in the arms of the Almighty."
~ Mata Devi Vanamali
|
"I see Bhagavan (God) always. I don't miss a glance, even for one moment. God is my own Atma (Self). If God is not here for a second even, I can't live anymore. This very you is God. Everyone around is God. Everything is Sarvam Brahm (the wholeness of totality)."
~ Govind Ashram
|
"Events happen, deeds happen, consequences happen, but there is no individual doer of any deed. Everything is happening according to God's will, cosmic law. How that happening affects whom is again according to the cosmic law, God's will. If we accept that, no one is to blame. Therefore, whatever happens, I don't blame myself, no load of guilt and shame. I don't blame the other, therefore no load of hatred and malice toward the other."
~ Ramesh Balsekar
|
"We all believe we exist. So we all believe in existence and existence is God. Being is God . . . This search for God is a search for the state, the place, of no pain. The place of peace. And we know it's there because it's our own state. Somewhere inside us there is this knowledge of our own state, of the painless state, of the state of complete peace. That's why we search for it."
~ Nani Ma
|
"When you think of all this universe as one thing then you start losing your own design. Then you'll be able to think on a higher, bigger scale. When you broaden your vision, that egoism will be lessened. Still it's going to be there, but He's going to take care. . . He knows how to use his instruments. We're all instruments in God's hands."
~ Sri Jamanagiri Swami ("Cave Swami")
|
"When you see Him in all. Everywhere, whatever you see, you see Him. Nothing but Him. Means nothing but divine. That stage is called enlightenment. You see the divine in everyone. And you see His will everywhere . . . When you are not enlightened you become the victim of dualities, light and dark, good and bad, love and hatred . . . A person who becomes enlightened becomes a free soul. Nothing can bind him then. Things are there, but nothing can bind him."
~ H.H. Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji Maharaj
|
"There are no others. You perceive others only in your waking state. You can not bifurcate as yourself and others. That is the whole tragedy. People divide, thinking that what they project is apart from themselves. You cannot divide anything. The mind is universal, not your mind or my mind. The sun is universal. Not your sun or my sun nor is this life yours or mine. Once you see that then there is no more contradiction. There is no more craving."
~ Swami Krishnamurthy
|
"The child that you are, learn to realize that your relationship with God is not dual. In His dynasty, the regime is love. He is the only one as you are the only one. He is inside you, lives with you. Admit this and accept this."
~ Devaraha Hans Baba
|
"I eat when I feel hunger. I sleep when I feel to sleep. An unhappy happening makes me weep too. When occasion demands, I laugh aloud and freely.
At the time of silence, I go into deep silence.
Whatever I do, I do it as a worship to and of God."
~ Prem Avadhoot Bapuji

"I had no idea . . ."
That's what I said when I watched the finished videos of the Dialogues set, and I am sure that is what you will say as well. In these videos you'll trek to the source of the holy river Ganges with me, you'll taste the color and culture and craziness of traveling in India, and you'll experience the awe of being in the presence of such evolved souls.
More than that, you'll get a glimpse into your own soul and discover the divine that is always present and accessible there.
The best thing is, you don't have to spend years developing the contacts that allowed me to discover these Masters, that you probably wouldn't and in some cases, couldn't get access to on your own.
You don't have to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to find them, interview them and learn from them.
You don' t have to get amoebic dysentery, or fall off mountains, or get kicked by donkeys.
You can simply sit in the comfort of your own home and bask in the sublime wisdom of these great Masters.
In this special and very unique package, you'll receive the edited video footage of interviews with ten of the more than sixty Masters I have interviewed. In addition, I have included in this package nine audio CDs of the regular monthly interviews I do as part of my Dialogues with the Masters series.
Then every month you'll join me as we sit at the feet of a great Master. Generaly these are spiritual Masters, but sometimes I'll have Masters of Ayur Veda, or Yoga, or other specific disciplines.
And you will love your calls with Chris. He has the most remarkable ability to communicate with clarity and love at the same time. He is also a rich fountainhead of wisdom about the delusion which leads us to believe that separation exists where there is none in reality.
The Masters
On the six DVDs in the Dialogues package, you'll meet the following Masters. The first DVD provides a compilation and a taste of the incredible adventure of my journeys to meet these Masters. The other five are in-depth interviews with Sri Jamanagiri Swami ("Cave Swami"), H.H. Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji Maharaj, Swami Krishnamurthy, Mata Devi Vanamali, and Nani Ma.
Sri Jamanagiri Swami ("Cave Swami") - Cave Swami of Chaimundi Hills (as he is lovingly called by his disciples) is a sadhu, or recluse, who provides inspiration and guidance to the charitable work of Operation Shanti in India. His humble and generous nature, a simple way of living, and practical, rational thinking form the cornerstone of what he calls "a charitable life", i.e. to help others in need and as he often says, "just do good things."
Ramesh Balsekar - Recognized as one of the foremost contemporary sages in the world and a Master of pure "advaita" (non-dualism), Ramesh, who is married and has three children, is widely regarded as a "householder" Guru. He has authored a number of respected texts on advaita including, The Ultimate Understanding, Who Cares!? The Unique Teaching of Ramesh S. Balsekar, and Consciousness Speaks: Conversations with Ramesh S. Balsekar.
H.H. Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji Maharaj - Revered by millions throughout India and the world, Pujya Swamiji is President and the spiritual inspiration of Parmarth Niketan Ashram in Rishikesh, one of India's largest and most renowned spiritual institutions. Under his divine inspiration and leadership, Parmarth Niketan has become a sanctuary known across the globe as one filled with grace, beauty, serenity and true divine bliss.
Swami Krishnamurthy - A mango farmer by birth, Swami Krishnamurthy is a deep intellectual by disposition. His expositions about the nature of reality, what is real and unreal, provide the Upanishadic wisdom of the ancients from a man who speaks from personal experience.
Nani Ma - Living next to the holy river Ganges in Uttar Kashi, Nani Ma was born in England, and has spent the past thirty years in India, devoted to spiritual practice and learning, high in the Himalayas. She is a woman of uncommon clarity, a deeply loving heart, and a complete lack of concern about appearances.
Sri Vellyananda Swami ("Nail Swami") - This remarkable man has pursued a path of yoga which involves not cutting nails or hair and subsisting on only hot water. It is said that he has had nothing but hot water and milk for the past twenty-five years, and as you will see, his hair and nails are not what we are used to.
Mata Devi Vanamali - The founder of Vanamali Ashram in Rishikesh, India, Devi Vanamali is a devotee of Lord Krishna, also known as Lord Vanamali. She speaks with a clarity borne of experience and has authored a number of books including: The Play of God, Song of Rama, Nitya Yoga: The Yoga of Constant Communion, and The Taste Divine, a book on sattvic, vegetarian cooking.
Hans Devraha Baba - To sit with Hans Baba is said to be a rare honor. None know his whereabouts in advance as he goes where he feels drawn. He is said to possess siddhis, or supernatural powers which accrue to adepts in yoga. Devotees will frequently enter a trancelike state during Hans Baba's chanting. His teaching is frequently through song as is seen even during the interivew in Dialogues with the Masters.
Prem Avadhoot Bapuji - I first met this wonderful Saint when my stepmother passed away. In the days immediately following her death, a friend told me Bapuji was just a couple of hours away. As you'll read in the story of my adventures, he came to me and paid his respects to my stepmother. That was the beginning of a wonderful friendship. Bapuji is revered by his disciples around the world and he is the spiritual inspiration for several schools in his home state of Gujarat.
Govind Ashram - Few know of or have spent time with Govind Ashram, yet this is a man of such depth and such devotion that I feel deeply honored to be able to bring his wisdom to you. You will learn as much from the quality of his life as from his words. This is a true sadhu and a real sage.
Music by Deva Premal and Miten
During my travels through India, I visited Golden University near Chennai. Walking down the path I found myself looking at a beautiful western woman who looked very familiar. Looking more closely I saw that this woman and the man with her were none other than my favorite performers of sacred music, Deva Premal and Miten. With over half a million CDs sold, they are the favorites of many other music lovers as well.
That was the beginning of a precious friendship. I am so grateful to Deva and Miten as they allowed me to use their music as the backdrop for this DVD series. As you will see, their beautiful melodies give the ancient mantras they sing a mystical quality which transports the listener to that place of peace and transcendence within.
More Interviews on 9 Audio CDs
For the past two and a half years I have conducted monthly interviews with Masters from around the world. As part of the Dialogues with the Masters package you will receive nine of those interviews on CD along with the six DVDs described above.
You will also receive a year's access to my monthly interviews to listen in on the live calls, or to the recordings at a later time.

Swami Vishwananda - Born in Mauritius of Indian parents, Swami Vishwananda melts the hearts of those who come to him for advice.
Deva Premal and Miten - Their music is divine, and as you will hear in this interview, it is no accident that they convey such love and depth in their performances
Dr. Swami Veda Bharati - A remarkable Vedic scholar, Dr. Swami Veda Bharati began teaching ancient Vedic wisdom at the age of nine.
Genpo Merzel Roshi - Genpo Roshi is one of the highest ranking Zen Masters in America and is the creator of the Big Mind, Big Heart practice.
Chunyi LIn - A Master of Qi Gong, the Chinese system of healing, Chunyi is author of the #1 bestseller, Born a Healer.

Samarpan - An American living in Germany, Samarpan inspires people throughout Europe with his profoundly simple awareness and remarkable grasp of the present moment.
For the First 20
Recently I took a group to India to meet a few of the Masters you will meet in this extraordinary package. Each of them paid over $3,000 plus their airfare to make the trip, a total investment of over $5,000. Conditions were sometimes rough and while a glorious experience, it was a very challenging trip for some of them.
Now, you can sit with these Masters in the comfort of your home, without all the discomforts that often come with trips to India and up into the Himalayas, and gain their wisdom in an environment you know. For me, it doesn' t get much better.
For the first 20 who enroll in this year long program of Spiritual Awakening, you will receive:

Is This Program Right for You?
This program for Spiritual Awakening is for you if you:
have struggled to find answers to the challenges in your life
feel there has to be more than this
experience the deep inner longing for awakening
have wrestled with financial issues or been lost in a relationship that isn't working
have tasted the sweet nectar of sitting in the presence of the wise
long to feel at peace with life
are fed up with the delusion of separation and are not willing to live in that delusion any more
There is a reason that the ancient scriptures encourage seekers to sit with the enlightened. Those true knowers of reality have drunk from the well of joy that is available to every one of us. It only makes sense that they can point us in the direction to drink from that same well ourselves.
What Does It Mean for You to Sit With a Master?
Sitting with these Masters is like sitting in pure love. You can't see their deep level of happiness without being transformed in some way yourself. There is a profound sense that everything is OK, that every moment is a gift.
I can't imagine that you can watch these DVDs or listen to these Mastesr and not be profoundly moved. I've listened many, many times, and they still affect me every time.
I feel the deepest gratitude to be able to make this very special and remarkable program available to you. It is said that you become like those with whom you spend time. My prayer is that this program will allow you to spend time with the enlightened—your own Self—again and again.
With all my love and wishing you the greatest blessings,

Janet Bray Attwood, co-author of the NY Times bestseller, The Passion Test - The Effortless Path to Discovering Your Destiny
P.S. This program is designed for those who are ready to put aside any sense of separation and to begin living in the reality of the unity of all things. If you are not willing to live life in the misery of the constant ups and downs which come with the perception of duality, then come on, and together let's awaken to a life of ever-increasing joy.
