| Reply Thanks to The Passion Test, I've been following my passions and have had amazing things happen, including funding my own music label, traveling the world, profound spiritual development and much more! Thank you Janet! I have hoped you and Oprah would work together in some way and I look forward to seeing it happen!
In a previous post, “Using the Passion Test to Create Your Ideal Career”, we talked about our journey of teaching. When we first began taking people through the Passion Test, our main goal was to enrich their lives by helping them find their purpose in life. What we learned along the way was that not only did it create many incredible miracles in so many lives, but also by teaching the Passion Test principles, our own lives spontaneously came to life even more fully. They say if you ever want to become an expert on a subject, commit to teaching it to someone else. What we have found is that the more we teach the process, the more we find ourselves unable to do anything other than live our passions.
The same has been true for one of our Certified Facilitators. Here is her story…
Dear Chris and Janet,
About a year ago I presented The Passion Test to my staff at a Fortune 500 company. I told my Human Resources department about it and they invited Janet and me to present it to a corporate conference inOregon. From there, I got several invitations to do other staff workshops.
I proceeded to take people through The Passion Test within one of the corporation’s cultural organizations, which resulted in another staff workshop and an article being written in that group’s world-wide e-newsletter. Shortly after that publication was distributed, I was invited to speak to that group’s California division. I had officially taken my show on the road!
A woman from that team who was based in Arizona could not make it to that workshop. She sent me an email, we talked, and now we are setting up a workshop in the Arizonalocation!
And it doesn’t end there! The same article reached a manager in theTurkey which led to a teleconference for his staff, which is spread across Turkey, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, and Dubai! My intention was to present to his staff in such a way that they would want me to present to others at their sites. And before I was even done with the workshop, one attendee in South Africa invited me to present to her local team there!
I also presented The Passion Test via teleconferences to another social group in the company here in the US and again, word spread – now I will be piloting the workshop to this same group’s chapters in Germany and UK, to then be presented more broadly to chapters throughout Europe!
So cool, huh? There are several more examples that have led to over 1000 employees taking The Passion Test in the last year. And I have done so very little marketing, this is all word-of-mouth and the employees embracing and arranging the logistics of each workshop. Intention-Attention-No Tension, right?
I love teaching The Passion Test and putting my attention on the intention of having as many people as possible follow an effortless path to their life purpose.
Thank you, Chris and Janet for your continued love and support. – R.H.

How can I be sure that my passions will continue to stay in my life as others come into my life? They may not totally agree with my passions.
Answer:
Your passions are like breadcrumbs, leading you to discover who you really are. As your life changes and you learn more about yourself, your passions will shift as well. That is why we recommend that you take The Passion Test at least every six months because each time you will discover more about yourself. As you peel back more of these layers you will find all of the natural talents and joys you have to offer to others.
However, that does not mean your passions will or should change because of what other people in your life find important. If their beliefs and their judgments determine what is really important to you, you’ll be miserable. By always choosing in favor of your passions you are not being selfish, so don’t believe people when they make that statement to you.
“When you do what is best for you, what brings you the greatest joy, then everyone wins!”
For instance, if you are yearning for something in addition to being a great mother and wife, there is a reason for it. The reason is not selfish and it does not make you a bad mother or wife. It means you can be a great supporter of others when you are living your most passionate life. As long as you strain and struggle to do the “selfless” thing, you will make yourself miserable. How do you serve those you love if you are irritable, frustrated and defensive because you’re doing what you think you “should” do, instead of what you love doing?
When you are happy and fulfilled in your own life then you will have so much more to give and it will be easy and natural to give it to the people you love and care about. As people come in and out of your life you can support their passions more authentically if you are staying true to your own.
Life is here for your joy. Following the path of what you love means letting go of your concepts of what you “should” be doing as determined by other’s beliefs. When you are able to trust that you are being led to what is best, not only for you, but for everyone else at the same time, life becomes magical.
If you are just getting started in making the commitment to follow your passions, begin by finding out where you stand right now. Invest 3 minutes to take your personal Passion Test Profile and find out how passionate you are, where you are blocked and what you need to do next. http://bit.ly/dehPJZ

| Reply Absolutely agree! It's a process, and I love the analogy of peeling back the layers because it's not a one-off thing... it's a constant adventure of discovering ourselves and what brings us closer to who we really are.
I believe that connecting to our passions, and truly expressing who we are and what sets us on fire, that's the only way to truly be considered ALIVE.
That's what the people around us - in our families, in our communities and in our circles of influence - need: people who are really living and giving of the best of themselves with passion!
Keep on sharing your phenomenal message with the world!

There is great peace and freedom when we stop trying to fly against the wind and learn to soar with it! ...It is my intention to connect with as many people as possible who have made the path of passion their journey, and to spread the love and joy that is found in it's center. I look forward to meeting you along the journey...
How do I let go of my doubting mind to allow myself to see ideas beyond what I know?
Answer:
Your doubting mind arises from beliefs you hold. As we say in The Passion Test book, there are only three things that prevent anyone from living their passions: false beliefs, false concepts and false ideas.
Often these beliefs are tied to low self-esteem.
In coaching thousands of people on The Passion Test, the one thing we can be sure we will find when someone is having a hard time believing they could fulfill their passions (or in your case, see great ideas) is a case of low self-esteem. This is nothing to be embarrassed about because it is common and it is manageable.
Your friends and family could all gather around you and build up your self-esteem by telling you all of your great qualities and strengths, and it wouldn’t make any difference. You wouldn’t believe them. In order for you to believe them and approach a situation, challenge or new idea with the amount of confidence that will give you the best results you have to feel worthy. What accompanies low self-esteem is the belief that “I am not worthy and therefore I can’t possibly fulfill my dreams.”
In your case, we suspect that you doubt your abilities to not only come up with new ideas, but also implement them. If you knew you could accomplish anything you put your mind to and you were worthy of it, do you think you could then “see ideas beyond what you know?” Yes, of course you could. So have you accomplished great things in the past? Yes, of course you have. That is where your focus should be in order to let go of your doubting mind.
Janet writes about this very topic in The Passion Test book when she describes how she overcame her addiction to low self esteem and in particular, her need to play the victim. It truly transformed the way she saw herself and it can work for you also. We call it the Appreciation Game and here is Janet’s explanation of how it works. And it does work!
“Every day I would review what I had done that day and somehow find something I appreciated about myself. It didn’t matter if it seemed like a small thing. The exercise was to find something I could appreciate about myself, no matter what.
“At first this exercise wasn’t so easy. Finally after many starts and stops playing the Appreciation Game, I finally kicked my low self-esteem addiction and chose instead to put my attention not only on my passions but also on my achievements.”
You can play this game on your own or with a partner. Sit for a few minutes at the end of the day or first thing in the morning. If you are doing it with a partner, take turns acknowledging appreciation for each other and for yourselves.
If you’re playing this game on your own, make a list of at least ten things you appreciate about yourself, what you accomplished that day or wins that showed up in your life that day. Don’t repeat anything from the previous days. Do this for a week. See how your mind will shift from focusing on self doubt to self confidence. Take notice of how you feel about yourself (and your partner) after playing The Appreciation Game.
Your doubting mind will not be the focus of your attention, we promise!
If it has been a while since you took the free Passion Test Profile, or if you have never taken it, now’s the time. Invest 3 minutes to find out how passionate you are, where you are blocked and what you need to do next. http://bit.ly/dehPJZ

| Reply Money Is Energy!
As Einstein stated "Everything from what we consider matter is ENERGY!"
When you keep thinking about "debt" you will vibrate that energy and become a magnet for the things you DON'T want.
Also, when people try to reprogram their minds they start by "active thinking" instead of "passive reprogramming".
Trying to change your mind through repetition works but it like trying to save a drowning man by giving him a glass of water.
It's NOT effect - and the evidence in that is all the failed attempts at change by people who really desire a better life.
The core of your beliefs are also the primary place for your own "resonating" energy.
Change that energy - and change will follow.
Hope this helps all who seek it!

| Reply Janet,(also my wife's name),I am more than double your age, I know the area, Santa Clara Valley, you live in, I took the EST training in April 1977, in San Jose, before that I had done SIMS, I also did 6 months of marriage counseling, read many self help books, had family counseling, these things I did came from having a really bad marriage, 5 kids, and no way out. 3 years after the EST training, I met woman who didn't care if I had a wife and 5 kids, so a month later the new woman and I moved in together, with her two kids. She is Jan, and we are still together after 30 years, and happy to be together. I'm not real happy here in Arizona, because the summer heat keeps us indoors all day. Our new house is worth less than when we bought it, and taking all our money with it. Money has been the big downfall for me, without money to do things, and cool weather, we're just stagnant, Jan doesn't seem to mind, she is just happy to be where I am. So you see, I am past most of the things you are espousing. things may be changing for us soon, my dad died recently, and we will be getting a little money, this will help to make my passions come true - they do take money !

| Reply Greetings Bill!
Your comment resonated with me. Money! We should create a seminar together with our combined learnings on how to stay poor permanenty! Remember what Janet did in the intro video? She burned her bridges. She had a 'cool, money-generating' job where she didn't/couldn't deliver. So she burned that job. Next point. False beliefs and non-serving programs are totally convincing - I certainly believe and defend all of my lunatic decisions! So - meant in a spirit of love and sharing - I invite you to look at your beliefs too. You state the summer heat in Arizona prevents you from being all you can be (in Janet/Chris lingo 'living your passions'). I have never been to Arizona, however I am prepared to bet that not everyone in AZ fails to thrive financially due to heat. Either the belief you hold is false, or the place is toxic to you so you choose to go. Burn the bridge, Bill. Looks to me as if you know your passions, so you have your intention. Next step is Attention to manifest your intention. Chris said "What you put your attention on grows stronger in your life. To create, take action because action engages attention." You and I know this to be true. My mistake has been to justify my inactions and I make such convincing arguments that even I (especially I) believe them. Result: ongoing focus on poverty. I have quite a few false beliefs to burn - if you look east tonight you may even see the flames - I lit a 'lies' bonfire three days ago and it is still burning! I wish you the courage to make the decisions which will bring you passion, ease and joy! Adieu de la belle France! Claire

| Reply Hi Claire,
your post was very open and self critical and honest. I am sure many people who have read it will agree that you just stated what so many of us "suffer" from. Self doubt, it creeps in for me and messes up my day. I have been staying focused fabulously for days and bang there it comes....But the best part of your message is burning the bridges...that's where I am right now and I have burned quite a few, one measly bridge is still intact and I am feeling the fear throughout my body. I am constantly picking myself up, refocus and remind myself that there is no other option for me than "Always choosing in favor of my passion".
Similar to Bill, I have told myself that I can't function properly, hence live a passionate life in the humid summer heat of Cairns. That's bull... I know now. I won't run away..I rather change my belief about it. Thank you Claire.
You have made my day, simply by knowing that others are also struggling with it, but keep on walking in the right direction.
Living a passionate life truly is a journey and it won't happen magically overnight.
I yell out across the ocean..."Never loose focus Claire and always choose in favor of your passion, no matter how scary..
Thank you for your uplifting post!!

How can I stay focused on my pursuit of the ideal life to work smarter not harder?
Answer:
Often times when we find ourselves working harder and not smarter it is a result of a lack of focus. When we are clear about what we need to accomplish and the initial steps we need to take we accomplish tasks in an efficient way.
“When you are clear, what you want will show up in your life, and only to the extent that you are clear.”
Dr. Andrew Newberg and Mark Waldman explain that the brain can only prioritize a few ideas and goals at any one time. “The clearer you become about what you truly love and desire, the stronger your conscious intention becomes, and this helps the rest of your brain respond in an organized way.”
We suggest taking a look at what you are currently working on – pursuit of passions, goals, new business ideas, etc. Start making a list of what you can do to start creating progress – taking action. When you make this list don’t get hung up on making sure everything is in its correct order because that will come next. Instead, just list what possible action you can take (and what other people may be able to do for you).
When you have completed your list, use the same technique you did when taking The Passion Test. Compare each item to every other item so that you can begin organizing it based on chronology. “Which should I do first, this or that?” Proceed to compare each item against the one that comes after it so that you develop a list of action items that keep you focused and efficient in your pursuits.
Working smarter is about focus. It is about fine tuning the process rather than haphazardly trying to take care of a lot of things in random order. Your brain works better with clear attention.

It is not that I have a lack of passion, but how do I integrate it into my life so that I have it all?
Answer:
In our attempts to have it all, we can sometimes find ourselves shifting our focus from one thing to another, dedicating spurts of energy and effort on certain areas of our lives at a time. We may work a great deal and not pay as much attention to our family, or work on our physical wellness while not taking time for spiritual growth. The great thing about finding your five passions is that you can create a way of living that keeps you focused on those top five easily. As we often say…
“Your passions are like breadcrumbs, leading you on to fulfill your life’s purpose”
Often times you may not conscious of where you are placing your attention. Thoughts come and go, without much notice. In order to consistently live your life aligned with your passions and have it all you need to create habits that support your vision for a purposeful life. Just like any other habits, it takes repetition to cement these ways of being into our lives.
Review your top five passions and create small routine practices that you can integrate into your daily life. Here are some examples of cultivating success habits, can you think of more?
Success Habits
Taking time daily to review your top five passions
Choosing in favor of your passions whenever you’re faced with a decision
Taking responsibility for the life you’ve created
Getting regular exercise
Getting adequate rest
Charitable giving on a regular basis
Eating healthy foods that support clarity
Speaking positively and uplifting others through your speech
Choosing friends who share your positive energy
Now we are not expecting you to keep your attention on all of these at the same time, every day. Choose to create one new habit and commit to it for twenty-one days, master it and then move on to another one.
Having it all involves making conscious decisions and keeping focused attention on what you want. If you do, it will grow stronger in your life.

We get many similar questions from our tele-class participants about how to make a career out of following their passions. Often times what we learn about these individuals is they all have a common passion to help others have more fulfilling and successful lives. What they are not sure about is where to start, what to teach and how to create an income from their passions.
When we first began taking people through the Passion Test our main goal was to enrich their lives by helping them find their purpose in life. What we learned along the way was that not only did it create many incredible miracles in so many lives, put also by teaching the Passion Test principles, our own lives spontaneously came to life even more fully. They say if you ever want to become an expert on a subject, commit to teaching it to someone else. What we have found is that the more we teach the process, the more we find ourselves unable to do anything other than live our passions.
With our economy in turmoil, connecting with one's passions has become critical. It's the only way most people will be able to survive the rough waters we're in. We invite you to check out this link http://bit.ly/b0BiM1, then make the decision to become a certified Passion Test facilitator, help people discover their passions and get through this current economic mess, and at the same time, create for yourself a life of magic and miracles.
Now, years later after Chris and I have taken thousands of people through The Passion Test, there is no longer any doubt. It has created so many incredible miracles in so many lives. It is clearly a profoundly powerful tool to help people discover their passions and live their destiny.
If you are truly committed to living a passionate, turned on, purposeful life, then the best way to keep yourself on track is to teach the principles for discovering your passions and aligning your life with what matters most.
We are thrilled because the Passion Test certification program allows you to not only help yourself as you help others, but to earn an income at the same time.
The certification process consists of three days and then ongoing follow up plus interaction with other Passion Test facilitators. You will have access to many bonus products and processes and you will receive 35.5 Continuing Education Units. That means you can take the course, be certified in a tool that will help you attract new clients, help them transform their lives, create more income for you, PLUS fulfill most of your continuing education requirements as a coach.
There are now more than 500 certified Passion Test facilitators and as we get on the phone together each month, we support each other, learn from each other and are inspired by each other's successes. We call it our Passion Test family and we look forward to having you become part of it.

My life seems great all week long when I get up and go to work but seems to fall apart on the weekend. It is very easy to do nothing. How do I achieve a purposeful life outside of work?
Answer:
It appears that there are a couple of factors working, or not working here, so let’s break it down and deal with them separately. Then we’ll show you how they are related.
First, what does a passionate life look like to you? Really think about this. Close your eyes and consider these questions; what are you doing, who is in your life and how does it feel? In taking the Passion Test you will come away with your top five responses to completing this sentence, “When my life is ideal I am ….”
Do any of your passions involve enriching or enjoying relationships with friends or family? Are any of your passions related to your health? Are any related to travel or seeing new places? Most likely some of these are included. If you’re having trouble with what to do on the weekend, chances are good that these passions aren’t getting much of your attention.
“What you put your attention on grows stronger in your life.” The reason we have you identify FIVE passions is because we all have different parts of our life that have importance. Knowing the five things that matter most to you gives you the chance to give attention to different parts of your life and enjoy the work-life balance you so desire.
Keep in mind what we call the secret that guarantees a passionate life: “Whenever you are faced with a choice, a decision or an opportunity, choose in favor of your passions.” When you’re making choices about what to do on the weekend, look at your passions and see what would help you be more connected to those things.
By creating markers for each of your passions you will see tangible ways of making choices about your weekend in favor of your passions. Remember, happy, successful people have all five of their top passions present in their life.
Remember that your life changes when the object of your attention becomes your conscious choice. The good news is that by taking the Passion Test and identifying your passions, you have begun your effortless journey down the road to a fulfilling life.
You may find it helpful to join us on our monthly Discover Your Passions calls. There are times when our focus goes to the current state of our government, employment and economic issues. It seems difficult to avoid the news stories and not feel affected by what they could mean for our lives personally. So how do you continue to live a passionate life when your mind gets stuck on negative situations or fearful thoughts distract you from a joyful life experience?
What you put your attention on grows stronger in your life.
In The Passion Test book we shared feedback we’ve received from Dr. Andrew Newberg and Mark Waldman, leading neuroscientists, as they describe how the neural connections in our brain are affected when we give attention to a particular belief.
“Putting attention on negative beliefs about yourself or your environment will result in stronger neural connections, and those beliefs, in turn will become more and more true for you. It literally becomes your inner reality, and that, of course, is going to influence the outer reality as well.”
More importantly, they state that the reverse is also true. The more we focus on positive aspects of our life, the stronger the connections and the more true those beliefs become to us. So which would you rather choose? While it may sound easier said than done, it is possible and will dramatically improve your experience of life.
We are all constantly creating our lives out of those things that we put our attention on. If your attention is on all the things you don’t have, all the problems in your life, and all of the bad things that are happening, then you are creating more of that. By putting your attention on joyful, passionate and fulfilling areas of your life, you bring more of the same into your life.
Fear is vividly imagining exactly what you don’t want to happen, happening.
Fear is what causes us to focus on the things we don’t want. If you have ever had those early morning or middle of the night thoughts that you may lose your job, that you won’t have enough money or that you will lose the things that make you feel secure, you can help yourself through it.
We all have habits and you can replace a bad habit with a good one so long as you are willing to make a shift in your thinking and make it stick through repetition. Let’s take a minute now to begin a new habit that will reduce your fears and make you more aligned with a passionate life.
Just for a moment, imagine something you fear happening to you. As soon as you have a clear image of it, say “cancel” aloud and shift your attention to the opposite of that fear. What makes those negative thoughts create fear in you is the belief that what you fear is possible. When you shifted your focus to the opposite, isn’t that just as likely and possible? Just as you shifted your attention, so can you shift your life.
When you culture the habit of shifting your thoughts to positive possibilities, new neural pathways will be created and your experience will change. You may still have some fearful thoughts for a while, but just keep canceling them and replacing them with their opposites.
Start by doing this for an entire day, then commit to working on the shift for an entire week. As more time passes and your ability to cancel out fearful thoughts improves you will see a noticeable difference in your inner and outer reality.
We would love to hear from you so please share your experiences in the comments section below.
As you are working to cancel out fearful thoughts and make the shifts, it always helps to have support with your efforts. That is why we have created weekly lessons and action steps towards living your passionate life with our Passionate Life Secrets program.
